Birthday Celebrations

My birthday evening plans included a trip to The Parthenon for some yummy Greek food.  We didn't time things out very well with Sam's eating and sleeping schedule.  So, that didn't work.

We decided to stick with the Greek theme, but went downtown to Gourmet Grill in an effort to save some time.  And really (don't tell the people at The Parthenon, but) the food is just as good.  Plus, the guy working at Gourmet Grill told us no less than five times that Sam was "beautiful."  Really, why would we go anywhere else to eat?

After dinner, we went home and I took Mabe for a walk while Brian put Sam to bed and then we sat out on our deck and had some "birthday cake" ice cream and Cherry Coke.  My favorites!  It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed some time sitting outside whilst trying to convince Mabel that she didn't need to eat our food.

Also, Brian got me a new pair of tennis shoes!  Yay!  I love new shoes.  Thanks, honey!

Happy Birthday to Us!

On today's agenda: buy plane tickets.
Reason: the Petermann family misses the Bishop family!

Cookie Baking

The only (good) photos that I managed to take during our cookie baking day were of Borne.  But that's okay because he is such a cutie pie.

This was our 4th year of cookie baking and we planned to spend the day at Amber's house, but the weather seemed to have a different idea.  So, Mel and Chris graciously let us use their kitchen.

Psycho Path

Last night, we re-lived our third date by making a visit to the Roca Berry Farm.

On Thursday through Sunday evenings, in the month of October, the farm is open past dark and becomes....the Roca Scary Farm.

Our friends Dustin and Jen went with us and we had a great time touring the Psycho Path, the Haunted Mansion and going on a Haunted Hayrack Ride.  We also shared a funnel cake, which was so yummy!

It was all fun, but the Psycho Path was definitely the best part and the part with the clowns and the strobe lights was the scariest....although, the zombie dude that followed us for a while also freaked me out.

If anyone is for some scary times, it will be open for the next three nights.  We recommend!

Early Birthday Celebration

Brian took me out for an early birthday dinner last night. We went to Macaroni Grill for my favorite Chicken Scallopine. As it turns out, Thursday night is their night for half priced bottles of wine. We managed to drink all of ours and it was yummy! Then, we headed downtown to red mango for dessert.

When we got home, Brian kindly sat and watched a couple episodes of Friends with me.

It was a lovely pre-birthday birthday celebration!

Our Valentine's

To celebrate Valentine's day we made each other cards, ate some yummy homemade pizza and drank James Arthur's Edelweiss by candlelight and then snuggled on the couch to watch Ground Hog Day. Also, Brian bought me these pretty yellow spider mums and we had Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts. I don't think I could've asked for a better evening.

Oops

Our computer was having a lot of issues a few weeks ago. (Thank you, Brian, for being a computer whiz and getting it fixed!) I tried to order our Christmas cards online during that time. I clicked the "purchase" button, but the next page came up as an error. I tried again. And again. And, finally, a fourth time.

Guess what. I bet you guessed it. The purchase was going through each time, despite the error. We ended up with somewhere around 400 Christmas cards. Oops. I wasted a lot of money, but this giant stack made a nice white elephant gift at our work Christmas party. :)
