Mel, Amber, Al and I had a TON of fun participating in St. Monica's Amazing Chase V. We ended up 13th out of 28 teams. I would guess that we were somewhere around 6th-8th place before we got the final clue, but we had a lot of trouble figuring out where to go to cross the finish line.
Some of the fun included: Al and I wrapping ourselves in a roll of toilet paper and fixing any breaks (we only had one) with chewing gum, Mel throwing balls in the air (while blindfolded) that Amber had to catch in a bucket that was strapped to her head, me eating a breakfast burrito, a large spring roll, a sweet roll and a hunk of sausage as quickly as I could, running through the Farmer's Market and finding the vendors that were selling the food items listed above, carrying eggs on wooden spoons across a park and back - while holding hands with a partner, Mel kayaking in Holmes Lake, a lot of running around at Lincoln Benefit Life - counting trees, handi-cap parking spaces and chairs on their back patio and a whole bunch of crazy driving (thanks, Mel!) as we zigzagged back and forth across Lincoln.
We ended up fifth (I think) in fundraising with a total of $2300.40. It was a wonderful day and we were so happy to be doing something fun for the good of others.
Again, thanks to all of you who helped us out financially and by donating items to our garage sale!
Awesome job on the fundraising! See you next year, right?
